Your Shar-Pei and Diet/Satin Balls

Constantly reading and seeking information, I read many
information bulletins and updates on commercially prepared dog
foods.
People ask what do I recommend, and to be honest there is no
commercially prepared dog food that I really recommend, but if
you ask me what food our breed can tolerate, yes there are some
that are better for the shar-pei than others, and they must be
free of soy, soya, brewers yeast or by products of soy such as
lethicin. If you really knew, and I mean REALLY NEW what was
in/ and how your pets food was prepared, your WOULD TRULY
THINK TWICE ABOUT what you are putting in your dogs dish.

As always my belief is 50 years ago there was no commercial dog
food available and all our dogs ate what we prepared for
ourselves, and lived long healthy lives free of dis-ease. They love
rice, fish, meat, pototos, and all my dogs ate what we ate and
were in great coat and health. There is just no argument here.
Like people you will always get animals that are super sensitive to
certain foods, plants and do have allergies, but I always say start
with the diet, and amazingly enough, you may see vast
improvements in next to no time. Start with diet, and check your
genetics. Skin, ears, eyes, stamina...................wonderful
improvements.

Instead of getting into the lengthy description of what the
rendering/slaughterhouse plants put into the pet food, I have
listed some links below that you can educate yourself with, and
then make your own decision what you want to feed your pet.

The recipe listed below is the much requested and used Satin
Balls RECIPE, which is all natural, known for its nutrition and is
great for just an all natural diet, or super for animals that
require weight gain or have been sickly, or are sick. EASY TO
MAKE! Freeze it and you will always have the best!

Satin Balls RECIPE
Ingredients

10 pounds hamburger meat/or chicken [the cheapest kind]
1 lg. box of Total cereal [or comparable natural brand]
1 lg. box oatmeal
1 jar of wheat germ
1 1/4 cup veg oil
1 1/4 cup of unsulfured molasses
10 raw eggs
10 envelopes of unflavored gelatin
pinch of salt
Mix all ingredients together and divide into 10 quart freezer bags
and freeze. You can double the receipe if you want to make a
bigger batch. Thaw as needed.
Uses - take a frozen packs to dogs shows, kept on ice, you will
never have any trouble with it spoiling, even in the heat of
summer days. Feed a pack a day...half in the morning, half in the
afternoon. If you want to increase the weight on a dog, feed
more; watch your amounts, if you find to much weight lower the
amount you are feeding, if you want more weight, increase, but
you should find the above more than enough for weight gain. Dogs
stop all the itching and chewing at their coats/skin, eyes get
brighter, even ears clear up - WOW!
Comments - Per the information received after having the Satin
Balls recipe checked by several vets/labs: Satin Balls has been
deemed a total canine diet. It can be feed by itself or as a
supplement, for however long you wish. I have been told a dog will
stop eating when full on it, and that you can then gauge the
amount needed to maintain weight! Many use the Knox Joint
Gelatin instead of the plain Knox unflavored gelatin. Since this is
high in vit C and protein, and is good for the joints, it would be
good for the dogs. gain, enjoy your reading and if you would like
further reading on all natural diets for your pet, you may want to
